Southern Oregon University has an enrollment of approximately 6,000 students. It is an independent public university and is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. SOU offers a broad-based, general education that prepares graduates for the many roles they will occupy in their lives, as well as selected professional programs for students with specific career objectives. The world-class U.S. Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory and the Schneider Museum of Art are located on the 175-acre campus.
