The University of Wyoming, located in Laramie, is a comprehensive, land-grant research institution enrolling more than 13,500 students on campus and through Outreach coursework.  Over 200 academic programs are available to students through the colleges of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education,  Engineering and Applied Science, Health Sciences, Law and the Schools of Energy Resources, and Environment and Natural Resources.  The faculty/student ratio is 1 to 15 and UW has an average class size of 30.

Admission Requirements

UW is an exceptional place and we welcome all students to apply.  Students can apply online at Applicants will need to submit their online application, $40 nonrefundable application fee, official high school transcripts sent directly from their school and official ACT or SAT test scores for admission consideration.

High school seniors or graduates and new first-year students, or those who have fewer than 30 transferable semester college credit hours, will need:

WUE Award & UW Scholarships

The University of Wyoming recognizes a limited number of non-resident graduating high school seniors as recipients of the Western Undergraduate Exchange award. Students are evaluated on their academic excellence using cumulative GPA (unweighted high school GPA on a 4.0 scale)  and composite ACT or SAT test scores using a grid criteria d curriculum rigor) using the grid criteria available at Recipients will pay 150% of the resident tuition rate. 

For WUE award consideration, students must be residents of a WUE participating state, have a completed admissions application (application, $40 application fee, official transcripts and ACT/SAT test scores), admitted and confirmed enrollment by May 1st.
