University of Alaska Anchorage

The University of Alaska Anchorage is an intersection for academic exploration, adventure, and transformative experiences in and out of the classroom. As the state’s largest university, UAA is home to five colleges, five schools, and is located on five campuses across the lower half of the state of Alaska in Anchorage, Kenai, Kodiak, the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, and Valdez.

UAA students experience hands on education through academics, research, leadership opportunities, and mentorship with our community partners in state, across the country and globally.

Surrounded by an environment that is both urban and wild, UAA is a gateway to innovative thinking, learning and exploration in a changing, modern world, drawing students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.  Students at UAA have received many prestigious national and international scholarships and awards including Fulbright, Truman, Marshall, Gates Millennium among others.

Research is central to UAA's mission. University researchers work closely with federal and state scientists in critical areas like fisheries management, climate change and resource extraction.
