New Mexico State University–Alamogordo (NMSU-A), established in 1958, is a community college branch within the New Mexico State University (NMSU) system.  NMSU–A’s initial mission was to serve military and civilian personnel based at Holloman Air Force Base (HAFB). NMSU–A has served students from all 50 U.S. states, as well as internationally. NMSU–A offers 2-year degrees and certificates in the areas of arts, fine arts and graphic design, sciences, engineering, allied health, information and electronics technology, automotive technology biomedical technology, renewable energy, business, education, social services and criminal justice. In cooperation with NMSU–Las Cruces, bachelor’s degrees in nursing and education can be completed at NMSU–A. Courses are offered in face-to-face, hybrid and online instructional modes. Some degrees and certificates can be completed entirely online. Online courses are Quality Matters certified.

Requirements for admission as a regular student include the following:

Transcripts must be sent directly from the high school or GED/HISET Testing Center to:

Students who attended a college or university while in high school must request to have official transcripts forwarded directly to the Admissions Office by the Registrar of each college or educational institution previously attended.

Note: If the high school transcripts or GED/HISET test results do not provide adequate information for a final admission’s decision, NMSU-A may require the applicant to submit official results of the American College Testing (ACT) Program test battery.
