The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is recognized nationally as a comprehensive teaching and research university that provides students with an excellent education at a reasonable cost.  UNLV has established an agenda for the next decade to become a premier metropolitan research university.  All UNLV programs are accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.  Individual programs have further accreditation from professional accrediting organizations.

Since its founding in 1957, UNLV has seen dramatic growth in both its academic programs and its facilities.  There are more than 100 undergraduate, 70 masters, 34 doctoral and 10 certificate degree programs offered to more than 28,000 students as well as international programs in Hotel Administration in Singapore and in Nursing the Philippines through St. Jude's.  UNLV has received over $95 million in external funding during FY 2006-2007 and more than $68 million from federal grants and contracts.  Of UNLV's students, 79 percent are undergraduates, 76 percent are Nevada residents, 24 percent are members of minority groups, and four percent are international students.  The average class size is 30.

Enrollment Information

Effective for the 2008 academic year, students coming directly from high school eligible for participation in the WUE program must meet one of the following criteria:

Transfer students requesting participation in the WUE program must complete 24 transferable credits with at least a 3.0 GPA.  To be considered for the WUE program, students must apply by February 1 for fall semester or November 1 for the spring semester.  Students applying after the above dates will be considered on a space available basis.Students accepted into the WUE program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas will receive the discounted WUE tuition rate for a maximum of 130 credits. Students requesting participation beyond 130 credits may petition the Office of the Registrar and Admissions.
